PETERBOROUGH, ON (June 2, 2023) – Swap out the tux, gown and heels for T-shirt, shorts and sandals, but be watchful of the clock as time ticks down to get tickets for the Backyard Summer Social.

The second-annual Backyard Summer Social is fast approaching, as is the deadline to purchase tickets for the fundraising gala set for Saturday, June 24, in support of Five Counties Children’s Centre. The Centre’s signature fundraising event returns at Five Counties’ Peterborough location with music, food, entertainment, fun activities, and much more as it offers a high-end gala experience for adults with a fun summer twist.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and will be unavailable at the door, so get yours now if planning to attend. Tickets are $125 apiece and available online or through Five Counties (email development@fivecounties.on.ca or call 1-888-779-9916, ext. 300). Along with a $75 charitable tax receipt, each ticket purchased to the Backyard Summer Social includes all food, one drink ticket, live music, access to all activities, and a chance to win fantastic door prizes. All the while, you will also be supporting Five Counties.

“Attending the Backyard Summer Social is a great way to enjoy fun, food and festivities to celebrate the start of summer,” says Lyn Giles, Director of Fund Development at Five Counties. “But your ticket purchase also does much more. It goes directly to support priority services like speech and occupational therapies that benefit children in our community while reducing wait times for these life-changing services.”

Last year’s inaugural Backyard Summer Social raised more than $45,000. People attending this year’s Backyard Summer Social can look forward to:
