Welcome, Boozhoo, Bienvenue to Investing in Quality (IIQ)
Investing in Quality Peterborough (IIQ) is a quality assurance initiative for early learning and child care professionals. Key components of this program include professional learning sessions, mentorship support, professional resource library and an annual early learning conference. The City of Peterborough is the funder of IIQ and Five Counties Children’s Centre guides this initiative. This program is guided by four strategic directions.
- Champion Professional Learning that Influences Practice
- Enhance Learning Through Mentorship
- Meaningful Measurement for Quality Improvement
- Organizational Alignment to Support Quality Transformation
Our guiding documents include How Does Learning Happen, The College of ECEs Code of Ethics Standards of Practice, Investing in Quality’s Standards of Quality, and Professional Learning Framework.
We believe that professional learning takes place every day in practice through experience, observation, and reflection together. Collaboratively, we can build capacity by encouraging leadership opportunities for educators to share strengths and learn from one another with the end goal of building positive outcomes for children.
“Knowledgeable, responsive, and reflective educators are essential”
How Does Learning Happen?
Investing in Quality would like to acknowledge that we are located in Nogojiwanong, which is the Anishinaabe word for “place at the end of the rapids” on Traditional Michi Saagiig Nishnaabeg Territory. We are located on the land associated with the Williams Treaty of 1923 and Rice Lake Treaty #20 of 1818.
We are grateful that the Indigenous peoples of this territory, and Turtle Island as a whole, have been caretakers and inhabitants of this land.
