Equipment Loans

Five Counties works with clients* and their families/caregivers to facilitate access to the equipment they need in accordance with clinical recommendations (*must be clients at the Centre and working with a clinician regarding a specific therapeutic need)

At School 

For client’s school-based needs, the Centre works with schools/school boards and vendors for loan, trial, or rental of equipment for use at school. Vendor and school board resources/equipment are utilized.  The Centre does not loan equipment to clients for use at schools

In Daycare

For clients enrolled in licensed early-learning and child-care settings, the process is similar to that in schools. Loans and purchases of specialized equipment can be accessed through Special Needs Resource funding provided by the Ministry of Education.

At Home

Five Counties offers Centre-owned equipment for home-based needs ONLY when other alternatives are unavailable. This arrangement is only for short-term loans, including for leisure equipment. Whenever possible, vendors should provide the equipment loan for trial/wait time periods and/or the equipment should be rented.

The Centre also supports community partners in creating accessible leisure opportunities on a case-by-case basis.
