Tyler and his mom KimKimberley Morello’s journey was not marked by immediate answers, but by the steadfast conviction of a mother who knew — despite reassurances — that her son, Tyler, was suffering in silence.

“He was a very big watcher,” says Kimberley of her baby boy. “His eyes were always on you, watching you. He wasn’t talking a lot, but I noticed that he would motion — gesture — as though he was using toddler hand signals.”

Concerned that Tyler may be hard of hearing, Kimberley instantly went to the doctor. But instead of finding support, she was brushed off.

At Five Counties, Tyler found his voice. Through the dedication of his family working alongside specialized therapists, he learned to thrive. Today, Tyler is doing well at university — and his future is bright with plans to help children find their voices.
