Abilities in Action – Speech-Language Therapy
Speech-Language Therapy supports how a child communicates and connects with others. Our Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and Communicative Disorder Assistants (CDAs) use evidence-informed approaches to build communication skills in fun, ways—and to help families find strategies that work in everyday routines.
Our SLPs and CDAs can support children/youth who:
- Communicate in different ways (including using gestures, pictures, devices, or other supports)
- Have difficulty expressing themselves (words, sentences, sharing ideas)
- Need support understanding language (following directions, answering questions)
- Find conversations challenging (taking turns, staying on topic, understanding social cues)
- Have speech sound difficulties (being understood)
- Stutter or have fluency differences
- Have voice concerns (for example, sounding hoarse)
