Abilities in Action – Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children and youth build skills for everyday life—so they can participate in the activities that matter to them. OTs look at the whole child (strengths, sensory needs, routines, and environments) and work with families to create practical strategies that fit real life.
Our OTs and OTAs can support children and youth who:
- Find dressing or other self-care routines difficult
- Have difficulties with noise, touch, movement, and busy spaces
- Prefer routines or predictability
- Need support with self-regulation and coping strategies
- Have difficulty with handwriting, printing, cutting, or other school-tool tasks
- Need support with play skills and daily activities
- Experience challenges with eating (including getting used to food texture and being open to trying new foods).
