Community Events Supporting Five Counties Children’s Centre

Winterfest 2019

Two weekends of glitter and games raised more than $42,000 for Five Counties Children’s Centre through its Winterfest events in Lindsay and Peterborough.

Winterfest highlights the beauty and excitement of the holidays, by bringing family and friends together to participate in activities as they begin celebrating the holiday season. Games at events included giant Lego, tabletop hockey and crafts, in addition to the very popular Frozen cast photo booth. Raffles for decorated Christmas trees, toys and other prizes added to the excitement of the events.

“Five Counties is fortunate to have such generous support from our community. We thank our sponsors, volunteers and event attendees who made this year’s Winterfest such a success,” says Diane Pick, CEO. “Without your donations and support, the specialized programs and services that are making the most difference to our kids and families would not be possible.”

This year, organizers focused more on children trying skill-building activities, just like we do with our clients when they come for therapy. A fabulous array of trees still added sparkle to the mall.
This year’s goodies include Leaf, Senators and Raptors tickets, trees filled with fishing gear and Frozen 2 movie passes and much more.

Event proceeds help support the children and families who receive assistance through the programs and services provided by Five Counties Children’s Centre. The Centre is dedicated to supporting children and youth with physical or developmental challenges and their families. Five Counties started treating children in 1975, serving 100 children in the first year and now treat more than 4,000 children each year. More than 500 of those children receive their treatment through fundraising activities like Winterfest.
