COVID-19 Update 15 May 2020

Dear Five Counties Families,

The health and safety of our families and our staff is always our priority at Five Counties.

As part of Stage 1 of Reopening the Province, on Thursday Premier Ford announced health and community service providers will be allowed to open or expand their services, provided health and safety preconditions are met.

We are pleased to share that we have started to provide in-person services to our families whose children are in urgent need as part of our Five Counties Three Stage Reopening Plan.

Our therapists are missing you and are so happy to see us moving towards reopening the Centre (in this photo Kate & Kelly)

Our Reopening Plan will be a slow, staged, and safe process. We want to ensure that we have the logistics of our resources, equipment and our staff safely in place and we have carefully considered each point of our Plan to ensure our in-person services are provided in the safest way possible.

While we wait for our doors to fully reopen, we encourage families to continue using our option of virtual services. Our families receive connection, comfort and support through our services which we are continuing to develop, provide and monitor in virtual ways.

We know offering our services both virtually and in-person is the way of the future. Please call your therapist or the Centre if you have questions about the services available for your family.

As we continue to move on to future stages of our reopening plan, we will connect with families and keep you updated as changes arise.  Please visit our website and/or our social media pages to stay up to date on our reopening news.

Your family is in our thoughts. Wishing you good health.

Sincerely,

Diane Pick

COVID-19 Update 31 March 2020

Dear Five Counties Families,

The health and safety of our families and staff is always our priority.

Today the Ontario Government announced that schools will be closed to students until May 4 and an extension of the Emergency Order requiring non-essential businesses to remain closed until April 13, 2020.

As a result of this news, all face-to-face Centre services will be cancelled until May 4.

Our incredible team continues to be available to support you as they work remotely and offer support to our families. If you have questions or concerns, you can reach out to our team by calling your therapist (www.fivecounties.on.ca/about-us/contact-us/) or via email at our info@fivecounties.on.ca email account. We are checking our voicemail and email daily. We will also share information and resources on our social media sites. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. You and your family are very much in our thoughts and we look forward to seeing you and your children soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Pick

Message from our CEO

Dear Five Counties Families,

Children, youth and families are the heart of Five Counties Children’s Centre. This unprecedented public health emergency has left families reeling with the ongoing closures of services that support families. The health and safety of our families and staff are of the utmost concern and were at the forefront of our very difficult decision to cancel our services to families.

We will continue to share information as the environment changes and impacts the services we offer. We cannot plan too far ahead as we have seen the pace at which things change.

This is a difficult, and perhaps scary time for our families. Some of our Five Counties Kids have vulnerabilities that may put them at increased risk.

Our incredible team continues to be available to support you as they continue to work remotely and offer support to our families. If you have questions or concerns you can reach out to our team by calling your therapist (www.fivecounties.on.ca/about-us/contact-us/) or via email at our info@fivecounties.on.ca email account. They are checking their voicemail and email daily. We will also share information and resources on our social media sites. You can find us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding during this time. You and your family are very much in our thoughts and we look forward to seeing you to your children soon.

Sincerely,
Diane Pick
