Cruise Night at Craft Works

May 16 – September 12

Cruise Nights at CraftWorks starts May 16th. Each Thursday evening during the summer CraftWorks hosts one of the biggest happenings in town! Hundreds of classic cars start to arrive around 4:00 pm and fill the grounds! Come and see what all the buzz is about, listen to the music while you stroll around the grounds – the show goes until dusk! Lots of prizes for those showing off their vehicles including a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas EVERY WEEK – compliments of John Dewar’s Auto Source!

This event is one of our largest fundraisers so come out and support the Lions.

Lions members will be around collecting donations and selling 50/50 tickets to raise money for very worthy causes including Five Counties Children’s Centre.

Don’t forget, The Barn will be open too for those who like to browse, and Jimy Ray’s Chip truck will be open to serve up some good grub!

Stoney Lake Shed Market – Saturdays from July 6 to Aug. 31

The popular Church Shed Markets find a new home and a new cause this year, with the same mission to reuse treasures you no longer want or need, while sparing them from landfill. Come to Carveth’s Marina, at the end of Carveth’s Marina Road, from 9 am to 1 pm to shop. Proceeds will be shared between Five Counties and Quilts for Cancer. To find out more, call Linda Hamersma at 705-652-9595.

St. Patty’s Day 5K Walk and Run

Five Counties Children’s Centre has the “luck of the Irish” as the charity benefiting from the St. Patty’s Day 5K Run and Walk downtown, just before the parade on March 17. The Sunday run attracts 250 participants each year and is viewed by everyone lined up to see the floats as they celebrate the Irish heritage on this region.

With the parade on the actual holiday next year, we are expecting larger crowds than usual in the event organized by the generous people at Runner’s Life. Organizers are looking forward to drawing runners decked out in green to the city core. Come out and connect with your community and support a great cause.

Thank you to LLF Lawyers and Harco Enterprises for sponsoring this event. The run begins at 1:30 p.m. and goes up George Street from the Memorial Centre to City Hall, then back again.

Canadian Tire Family Day with the Petes

Check out Video from our Canadian Family Day with the Petes and Jake!

This annual tradition brings hockey fans together for a celebration of teamwork and community on a day set aside for cheering Peterborough’s hockey team. The event includes an afternoon home game at the Memorial Centre against the Niagara Ice Dogs, followed by a chance to skate with the players. Come early to get your face painted, buy a puck for the chuck-a-puck content and to bid in the silent auction for an autographed Eric Lindros jersey. The game begins at 2 pm but come early to enjoy the additional activities. Then cheer on Seventh Skater Jake Mather, a Five Counties client, as he makes his OHL debut. If you get your tickets directly from Five Counties, more of the price goes directly to helping young people get life-changing treatment sooner. Thank you to LLF Lawyers and Ashburnham Realty for providing tickets for several of our families who may not have been able to afford to attend the game.

Winterfest 2018Winterfest tree web

Winterfest in Lindsay and Peterborough is the family event of the season, highlighting the beauty and excitement of the holidays. These fun-filled four day events bring family and friends together to participate in exciting activities and kick off the holiday season celebrations. Taking place at Peterborough Square and Lindsay Square from Thursday, November 22 through to Sunday, November 25, 2018, event proceeds support the children and families who receive assistance through the programs and services provided by Five Counties Children’s Centre.

Now in our sixth year in Peterborough and fourth year in Lindsay, the proceeds from Winterfest have helped provide therapy and support to the more than 4,200 children who use the services of Five Counties Children’s Centre each year. Children & youth from birth to nineteen have access to services like Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, and Augmentative Communication.
